When are the busiest times on Prolific for both participants and researchers?

Hello! We are curious when the busiest times are for Prolific in terms of both participants (U.S. participants, U.S. eastern time) & for researchers (available studies).

For example, what day of the week / time of day does Prolific have most participants simultaneously online? → Would help schedule group studies.

Also, what day of the week / time of day does Prolific have fewest studies online? → Would also help schedule studies that we might want to get quick submissions.

Thanks!

Hi Cosanlab, it’s great to have you as part of the community!

Participant Activity

Below is a graph showing submissions per hour of the day of US participants (in EST).

Researcher Activity

Below is a similar graph showing the number of studies published per hour of the day.

Given that researcher activity peaks around 10-11am, and participant activity peaks around 13:00, then perhaps publishing between those times will get you the sweet spot you’re looking for.

That being said, the average study on Prolific is completed in under 2 hours, and we generally see most studies complete within the first 24 hours. So, I wouldn’t worry too much about timings!

I hope this info helps!
