Hi, I’m new to this platform. I’d like to ask a question regarding payment approval. The qualifications of my study requires additional filters beyond the available filters. I specify those filters at the beginning of the study. However, some participants who are not qualified (from their answers to the screening questions) for the study still proceed to complete the survey (I didn’t filter them out following the instruction on the website), would they still be eligible for payment? I’m sorry to hear that you were unable to identify the prescreeners you required for your study!
However, any prescreening criteria for your study must be applied using Prolific’s options in advance of publishing
By this, we mean that the full eligibility criteria for your study must be applied to your prescreening, so that all participants who are sent to your study can complete it and receive the reward. Unfortunately, you can’t reject participants who don’t meet the criteria you’re looking for, or exit them from your survey, if the criteria wasn’t applied to your prescreening. This means they’ll have to be paid.
We go into detail on this here. If you would like to recruit a niche demographic that you can’t obtain using our existing prescreening filters, you can use this method.
