Hello!
I would like to know if itβs possible to condition payment on adhering to very simple, clearly explained study rules. These rules would be designed with the objective of ensuring data quality (but are not attention checks), and would probably be explained in the study description and in the consent form.
Thanks in advance!
Dear Mrtnsrmo
Welcome to the forum
I am afraid that even in the case of attention checks researchers are asked to use at least two (for surveys over 5 minutes) and request that participants return their submission if they fail two fair attention checks before turning to Support.
- Participants should never be rejected on the basis of these checks. If participants who have failed comprehension checks are appearing as βawaiting reviewβ then please contact the support team for help in returning the submissions
An exception to this is if the participants are asked Prolific screeners, at the beginning of the survey, using exactly the same wording, and they respond in a way different to their screeners (About you) on record with Prolific, in which case they can be branched out of the study instantly, to a page which says please return your submission.
I donβt think that under Prolific guidlines, "itβs possible to condition payment on adhering to very simple, clearly explained study rules. but, this is difficult for me to imagine without knowing what the rules are. Would it be possible for you to share them?
