Options to speed up recruitment?

Hi,

New to Prolific here, so hope I am posting this in the correct place! I am currently running my first study on Prolific (after doing a small pilot study here as well last week), and have experienced a slowdown in recruitment after the first day. I need 320 subjects, which is about 1/3 of the number of eligible subjects (1,071). The study has been running since Wednesday noon, and is currently at 74%. I guess that some slowdown in recruitment after the first 24 hours is only natural, but I would really like to finish the study as soon as possible, as it is quite time sensitive. Is there a way to somehow speed up recruitment by e.g. refreshing or reposting the study?

What also surprised me is the following: I made a participant account to see how things look from that side, but I have not received an invitation to my own study, despite matching all the criteria. Any idea how this could occur?

Thanks so much for your advice on these matters!

Best,
Joyce

Hello Joyce, and welcome to the Forum

This is something that @Josh can actually do, so that participants get an extra notification about your study. Just make sure to share with him your study details (study title and internal name should be enough) either here or via DM.

As far as I know, Prolific does not immediately send the study to the whole population of eligible participants. It privileges the most naive participants as well as sets “caps” that prevent the same participant to do too many studies in a certain amount of time.

I hope this helps clarifying a bit!
Cheers,
Veronica
