Always happy to help! Name a genre, and I hope I can name a title!
Hmmā¦Iām in the mood for psychological thrillers, mystery movies or real mind-benders
Then you should definitely see āThe Machinistā. It is really intruiging! If you are watching it, let me know what you thought of it!
Lovely! Thanks for that - my Friday night is now sorted. Iāll let you know what I think
Nice!
And? Did you watch it?
It was quite intense, but very enjoyable! Got any other recommendations?
Yes it is very intense indeed!! Always within the same I would call it āoutcast genreā, āWe need to talk about Kevinā , āPrisonersā or one of my favs, āThe cook, the thief, his wife and her loverā, the music in this movie really gets under your skin! Or the more well-known movies like Shutter Island, Se7en, One few over a cuckooās nest and of course, (my favourite of all times) The Sixth Sense.
I will be very exited to name movies from other genres as well haha!
āWe need to talk about Kevinā has been on my list for a while now. Iāll watch it next weekend! Whatās your favourite movie? It can be any genre
Good! I do think āThe Sixth Senseā stays high on my all-time favourite list! But I am very fond of the really good Disney movies, like A Bugās Life and Toy Story 1 as well ( A monster calls is also a very good childrens movie). And I believe Das Leber der Anderen is perhaps the best war movie ever made. Also I forgot Donnie Darko in my previous list.
What is your favourite cultural piece (art, movie, literature)?
Nice, I also enjoy a good Disney movie. And I watched Das Leber der Anderen as part of history in school, and I loved it!
Oo, thatās a very difficult one. I donāt have a favourite cultural piece overall, but my favourite film is the Truman Show.
Have you seen House (Japanese comedy/horror)? I think youād like it. Itās one of the most unique horror films Iāve ever seen
Ahh nice! History and French classes have given me quite the education on movies and songs! The Truman show! Yes itās a family classic in my family! This weekend I am planning on binge watching āThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierā:), but I will definitely give House a try (although The Ring really put me off horror movies). Btw, please correct my English if I make any mistakes!
I share your taste in movies Jet, so I will look out for āThe Lives of Othersā and perhaps bug story.
You have probably already seen Memento, Terminator 2, Mulholland Dr. (and perhaps others by David Lynch but that is my favourite), The Truman Show, The Thin Red Line (better the second time), True Romance (the Sicilian Scene is to die for), Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, To Kill a Mockingbird, Wings of Desire (the Wim Wenders original, not the Hollywood remake, but that is not that bad, and other films by Wim are good too such as Paris Texas), Adaptation (maybe), Films
by The Coen brothers or at least the early ones such as Fargo, and Terry Gilliganās films especially 12 Monkeys. Mel Gibsonās directorial efforts are pretty good too. The Passion of the Christ and Hacksaw ridge almost converted me to Christianity and explain it better than anything I have seen elsewhere. The Man who Fell to Earth staring Bowie was a blast.
I have not watched movies in a while.
Hi Timtak,
I saw most of them! But thank you for the recommodation of Wings of Desire, Hacksaw and the Man who Fell to Earth, I didnāt see those. Same, cinemas being closed and movies getting (I think) more expansive makes the fun go away a bit in my opinion.
Trust me, House is unlike any horror youāve ever seen. Very light-hearted, with a really great soundtrack
Then I should definitely give it a try!
Managed to watch it at all?
Well, I was about to, but then my dad came to me saying: āI watched the trailer, I believe, knowing you, that you should probably not watch it.ā So, I am in doubt whether I am going to watch it or not.
