Integrating Mulitple Surveys/Tasks

Hi!

I am about to launch my first prolific study and had a question for y’all. Will this sequence allow my participants to get paid?

Prolific → Qualtrics → Pavlovia → Prolific.

I know other participant management systems don’t allow this (like SONA) so I wanted to ask before I launched.

Hey @balbir.singh, I’m very sorry for the delayed reply, and welcome to the community :tada:

As long as participants are redirected back to Prolific once they complete, and you ensure that you can match submissions to your data (i.e., by recording IDs) then a participant can be paid.

In this case, because you’re using 2 platforms you’ll need to figure out a way to track the same participants data across all 3 (Prolific, Qualtrics, and Pavlovia), so you will need to pass the ID from Qualtrics → Pavlovia somehow. I’m not sure how you would do that.

The Pavlovia forums might be more helpful

Out of curiosity, why are you using both Qualtrics & Pavlovia? Is there functionality one can provide that the other can’t?

Awesome! Thank you for the response.

Yes using HTML query strings and embedded data in qualtrics, you can easily pass information like the Prolific ID from task to task.

My previous reply was apparently stuck in drafts!

So qualtrics is excellent for surveys and pavlovia does really well in reaction time tasks. For this task I need images to be presented on the screen for 500 ms. Qualtrics can technically do this, but it requires javascript (which I am no good at) and their timing has larger variances than pavlovia. In pavlovia 500 ms is about 500 ms for each person who takes it. For this study, I have a reaction time task and a bunch of surveys so I am linking them both together.
