To determine English fluency, are participants simply asked a yes/no question? Or is English fluency determined based on a writing task they have to complete? I am curious what the metric is, because this variable is important for a study I will be conducting.
Hello @Dani_Levine and welcome to the Forum!
Participants have to answer the following question, selecting (among all) the languages they are fluent in. So they don’t have to take any test and basically they self-report their proficiency.
If English proficiency is key to your study, maybe consider adding other filters such as ‘First Language’, ‘English speaking Monolingual’ or even restricting your participants’ nationality to US, UK, and other OECD countries with English as official language.
Hope it helps!
