How does ethics approval work for universities outside of the UK?

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how ethics approval works if we work for a university outside the UK?
Do we need ethics approval from a UK committee or is approval from our local committee sufficient?

That will depend on your local ethics committee… Or rather, I think you only need approval from your local ethics committee (unless they should stipulate that others be involved).

Is it ethically allowed to store the demographics of the participants, especially considering the European law on data protection and privacy?
