Attention checks with yes no answer

Hello there,

I want to implement an attention check in our survey. However, I’ve read that prolific wants an attention check in form of a rating scale. Unfortunately, our first survey is more a screening of tools and software people use, we only have one scale. It would be possible to include one check in there, it’s quite at the end. I would love one in the beginning/middle. Would it be okay to have an two-level-scale. Like “I can teleport across time and space” with “Totally agree” and “Totally Disagree”

Yep, that’s okay.

With the nonsensical items, the length of the scale doesn’t matter really, as long as

(a) there is no middle/neutral value
(b) the extremes are strong agreement vs strong disagreement.
