Allowing timed-out participant to complete the study

One participant who timed out of my study messaged me to say it was an internet problem and asked if they could still complete the study. I’d rather not duplicate my study just for this person (as suggested here).

For my study, participants are redirected to Qualtrics then redirected back to Prolific at the end. Can I just send the Qualtrics study’s address in a message and let them complete it that way? Even if the redirect doesn’t work right because they had already timed out, I could manually approve their timed-out submission, right? I’m new to this, so are there any pitfalls I’m not seeing here?

In my study I sent them a direct link to the experiment via PM, then approved the participation manually

Yes, that’s what I was thinking of doing. I just wasn’t sure if I’d run afoul of some sort of issue I hadn’t thought of, since I’m new to using Prolific. But I will try it and see how it goes. Thanks!
